The Best Friends Dog Park is located on Edwards St., it is funded and maintained solely by the efforts of volunteers and through donations. BFDP is currently in need of volunteers to help perform a variety of functions within the organization. If you would like to make a donation to the park, please make a check payable to "The Best Friend Dog Park Foundation" And mail it to:

The last Saturday of every month is project day. Starting at 8:00am, volunteers use this day to clean the park grounds, pick up trash, clean trash cans and pull weeds, all in an effort to keep our park a safe and beautiful place for our best friends to play. If you would like to volunteer, just show up and pitch in. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated.

The Best Friends Dog Park is currently in the processes of obtaining a 501-3c tax status and becoming a non-profit organization by the end of the year.

Rules:
The use of the Best Friend Dog Park is a privilege, not a right. Please don't abuse it. We ask that you observe the following rules that make the park a safe, sane, sanitary place for every one.

1.) Park Hours:

Small Dog Area
Large Dog Area
Large Dogs in Small Dog Area
Weekdays
9am-7pm
9am-5pm
5pm-7pm
Weekends
10am-7pm
10am-5pm
5pm-7pm


As a courtesy to neighbors of BFDP, please do not use the facility outside of these times.

2.) To enter the park, dogs must be at least 4 months of age, be fully vaccinated and have be able to show proof that they are currently licensed.

3.) Female dogs in heat are never permitted in the park.

4.) Doggy parents are responsible for picking up and disposing of their own dog's stools. Doggy bags are and trashcans are placed through out the park.

5.) When entering or exiting the park you must leash and unleash your dogs in the double gated holding areas. Dogs must remain leashed anytime they are outside of the fenced area as per city ordnance. Dogs are not permitted to be unleashed in the parking lot reroute to or from BFDP.

6.) Never open more than one gate at a time in order to prevent dogs from escaping from the dog park. Once inside the Dog Park fenced area, please walk away from the entrance to in order to help decrease the congestion in that area.

7.) The small dog area is for puppies, small sized dogs, geriatric dogs, handicapped dogs or any sized dog that is uncomfortable in the large dog area.

8.) Aggressive dogs must be removed from the park immediately without debate from the parent. The use of BFDP is a revocable privilege. Dog owners are personally liable for any injuries inflicted by their dogs. Please remember that you enter the park at your own risk.

9.) Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the park without a supervising parent, and must also stay within arms reach of their parent. They are not permitted to run or play in the Dog Park area. Please remember that the that this area is a playground for dogs only, and a child that runs in the park is likely to chased and knocked down by a dog who thinks they are playing with the child.

10.) No alcoholic beverages, or food, either canine or human are permitted in the park.
